Bay of Fires Pinot Noir
I had the 2006 Bay of Fires Pinot Noir tonight. Nice to drink this now. Not very complex, but bright flavours of strawberry, not weak, quite polished, with reasonable length and a refreshing finish.
I am a very interested amateur wine taster and drinker. I have collected wine since 1983 and hold a 1500 bottle wine collection of mainly red Australian wine, but also some wine from France, Italy and other countries. You can contact me on tgirgens@bigpond.net.au.
I score each wine out of 100 points, similar to many other reviewers. This score reflects my perceived objective assessment of the quality of the wine, its purity of fruit, complexity, elegance, structure, length of expression etc. The second score is an amendment, depending on how I personally like the wine: up to three + for a wine I like very much, and three - for a wine I don't like. The +/- score may correlate with the numeric score, but not necessarily so.
