Voyager Chardonnay
This 2006 Voyager Chardonnay, from a cooler vintage, is quite different from the previous years, which feature predominantly peach flavours. This one is quite pale, on the citrus end of the spectrum, quite austere, with a firm, acidic finish - a good food wine.
I am a very interested amateur wine taster and drinker. I have collected wine since 1983 and hold a 1500 bottle wine collection of mainly red Australian wine, but also some wine from France, Italy and other countries. You can contact me on tgirgens@bigpond.net.au.
I score each wine out of 100 points, similar to many other reviewers. This score reflects my perceived objective assessment of the quality of the wine, its purity of fruit, complexity, elegance, structure, length of expression etc. The second score is an amendment, depending on how I personally like the wine: up to three + for a wine I like very much, and three - for a wine I don't like. The +/- score may correlate with the numeric score, but not necessarily so.
