Christmas Drinks

I would like to know what we are all drinking over Christmas. Champagne, I suspect, maybe from a specialist producer this year? Or that special red you have been keeping for a while or Sparkling Red? Or are you planning for a hot, seafood orientated day with Riesling or Chablis? Or a turkey with Pinot or Chardonnay? Or will it be a beer festival?

Let's hear it!

Well Alontin, by my choice I've been drinking a larger than usual amount of sparkling reds in the build up to Chrissy (I know it's a bit cliche but hey), especially as it's been an unbelievably cool December in Adelaide, but once the family arrives I'll be relegated to cheap and cheerful quaffing wines. I think I posted a winelist on your site around this time last year? Might have to see if I can find it and compare it to what I drink this year...

Cheers and Merry Xmas Alontin,

Yes you did, Chris. But please give me your list anyway. I will have an extra special in store, but report on it a little later.

As you can see from my reviews, I am still drinking some Shiraz, as it is very cold in Sydney as well.

All the best to you for the New Year
Alontin.

I took some wines out of the cellar recently. Havent finalised what with what but thinking of the following:
2004 Grosset Polish Hill Riesling - picked up cheaply at auction;
2002 Clonakilla Shiraz Viognier; and
Assorted Pinot Noirs and Rieslings.

Last year I focused on Rose but this year I'm really enjoying Riesling and there are plenty of options there both quality and price wise.
