This is of course a sensible position. However, not everybody is into floral wines. You can drink a dry rose from the current year with seafood, can't you?
Funnily enough I agree with Edward - Go Riesling! I love the freshness, crispness, purity and dryness - I'm also on a bit of a bitter beer crusade at the moment, as weird as it sounds Tasman Bitter is my house beer as we speak - freshly Tasmanian yet crisp and dry! (and $11 a 6 pack!)
Unoaked grenache based wines can tickle my fancy a bit in summertimes too - Teusner's Joshua a fine example
I am a very interested amateur wine taster and drinker. I have collected wine since 1983 and hold a 1500 bottle wine collection of mainly red Australian wine, but also some wine from France, Italy and other countries. You can contact me on tgirgens@bigpond.net.au.
I score each wine out of 100 points, similar to many other reviewers. This score reflects my perceived objective assessment of the quality of the wine, its purity of fruit, complexity, elegance, structure, length of expression etc. The second score is an amendment, depending on how I personally like the wine: up to three + for a wine I like very much, and three - for a wine I don't like. The +/- score may correlate with the numeric score, but not necessarily so.

It's got to be riesling. Hot weather, seafood and being able to drink wine from the current year. . .

And thank you for voting!

(I'm not a big rose drinker by the way;)
Good luck with the poll!
