Thank you for voting, Chris. I think this is a very strong group, and as a group represents Australia's uniqueness in wine best.
I was actually toying with the idea of throwing the Clonakilla in, but then the Viognier gives the wine a floral flavour, which is different from pure Shiraz.
Maybe I will do some more categories and in the end have a 'best of best'. I am sure the Clonakilla would be in that.
I am a very interested amateur wine taster and drinker. I have collected wine since 1983 and hold a 1500 bottle wine collection of mainly red Australian wine, but also some wine from France, Italy and other countries. You can contact me on tgirgens@bigpond.net.au.
I score each wine out of 100 points, similar to many other reviewers. This score reflects my perceived objective assessment of the quality of the wine, its purity of fruit, complexity, elegance, structure, length of expression etc. The second score is an amendment, depending on how I personally like the wine: up to three + for a wine I like very much, and three - for a wine I don't like. The +/- score may correlate with the numeric score, but not necessarily so.

Jeez you couldn't have made it any harder could you Alontin? ;)
I'm just gonna tick Mt Edelstone on the strength of the 02, 04, 05 (not exceptional wine but exceptional considering the vintage) and 06 releases.
I could've easily swayed towards the likes of St Peters, Bin 0, Moonambel, Dead Arm, Stonewell or Wendouree, but what the hey?!
I would've been very interested to see how it would've polled had you chucked Clonakilla's Shhi/Vio in there.
Cheers,
Chris P
